Friday 23rd August - walk ***** – Felixstowe prom including a picnic on the be ach with Maeva – Sunny periods and hot.

After 4 days of some full on windsurfing it was time to have a day and spend it with the Granddaughter, the lovely Maeva. I had time to do my exercises in the garden, pretty breezy first thing with gusts to 40 knots before we drove over to pick Maeva up at 10.30. Back home we had fun with books and peg puzzles, two of her favourites and her vocabulary is coming on leaps and bounds:) With the wind now from the west, offshore at Felixstowe and sunny I packed a picnic and we all headed down to Felixstowe seafront, a quick spin around the pier before setting off towards the Fludyers finding a nice quiet spot on the beach just past the Spa theatre for our picnic:) Maeva ate all hers, it was cheesy beans after all, one of her favourites. We are so lucky to live by the sea just to sit on the beach watching the waves roll in is lovely! We had fun playing with pebbles and with the tide fast approaching it was time to head off. We carried on to the round seat just past the Fludyers hotel with the highlight being a small group of old people on a day visit to The Hut going for a paddle in the waves with her helpers pleased to getg feet feet, we stopped to watch the fun. Maeva was shattered and went to sleep but not before a large wave hit the prom sending water high in the air right in front of us, not one drop landed on us! Then back up the pram walk and home for a cuppa and cake, Maeva loves cake before taking the little girl home, another top Friday!
Tomorrow is looking very wet, typical bank holiday weekend but Sunday is looking better and might even be able to get out on the water again, August has been a good month for sailing with 14 sessions so far and hopefully more to come!
